As you would expect from a restaurant nestled on the coast of Northumberland, we have cast out the net when it comes to freshly caught local seafood. Our emphasis on local produce and ingredients doesn’t stop on the shoreline. Northumberland is blessed with some of the best butchers to be found anywhere in the world, all priding themselves on supplying the highest quality meats from local marts.

Our breakfast menu is available to all between 7.30am – 10.00am on week days and 8.00am – 10.30am at the weekends.
Our A La Carte Menu is available from 12.00pm – 9.00pm from Monday to Sunday and our Bar Menu is available from 12.00pm – 4.00pm from Monday to Saturday.
On a Sunday we serve our Sunday Roast Menu from 12.00pm – 4.00pm.
We have a dog friendly area in our restaurant. Please advise on booking if you wish to bring your dog. This is a request and subject to availability.
Although we have some parking spaces at the back of the building we cannot guarantee a space will be available for all our guests on arrival. Please also note these spaces are not easily accessible for larger vehicles. There is on street parking at the front of the building and throughout Alnmouth. If you have any questions about parking please do not hesitate to contact us.
Our restaurant and hotel are currently closed however we are delighted to offer a click and collect service from our restaurant in Alnmouth. This gives you the opportunity to sample some of our locally sourced dishes which are perfect to enjoy whilst taking in the beautiful surroundings of Alnmouth.
Allergies & Dietary Information at The Whittling House
- We are able to make accommodations for certain common dietary restrictions with at least 72 hours’ notice.
- Please notify us in advance of your visit if there are any dietary allergies or intolerances – we can then advise you on the best course of action.
- We do our best to accommodate mild allergies but cannot guarantee that we work in a seafood, nut, dairy, gluten or allergen-free environment given the complexity of our kitchens and menus.
- We would recommend bringing any prescribed medication with you to avoid any potential discomfort.
